Unexpected Type (week 1)
I am always searching for fun things to do with my daughter Maggie. She loves to create- and for the past few months, we have been working on drawing letters and talking about words. (we call out morning learning sessions “school” and she LOVES it) I thought that this “unexpected type” project would be a fun challenge! It is something that helps us work together everyday to make something beautiful, learn about letters, practice our creativity, and just have fun together. I generally instagram a photo everyday, (you can check it out here) but I will start to do weekly roundups on the blog. We try to use different items to make the letters, not only so we can talk about grass, roses, or orzo pasta, but also to help us play with lots of different items and have that tactile learning take place.
Maggie is a huge fan of the project, and it has become part of our daily ritual–it’s a chance to talk about important things in a fun setting- whether it be “love,” “happy” or “mess.” It has really reminded me how important it is to constant and fun with your children. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
